Writing even two hundred words can be daunting, and imagine writing 2000 words a day... well, that's a different story. But here we are writing the same amount of digits that we can't imagine unless we are Stephen King, and I will tell you how it's possible.

Don't count, but enjoy

We often keep in mind that we are going to write a certain amount of words, which is what I used to do. Truth be told, it never worked for me. Sometimes, I start to get bored from writing, and sometimes, the countdown seemed to slow. I had to dig out the real problem: the mindset with a goal of completing the word count. If you sit only to hope for writing 2000 words, you're going to get bored really quickly, but why? Because your mind would rather be more focused on the word count than on the story itself, and that is what you have to fix.

What I want you to do is, instead of having the goal of words count, have the goal of actually amount of novel you have to finish. What I want to say is that, keep a goal, a goal of writing from this point of the story to this point of the story. Today, I will write six pages, and this must contain this much of the story.

Make the story clear and simple

Sometimes it's really difficult to think about the story during writing. When you sit to write, your brain goes into focus mode. It doesn't create imagination the way it does when you're not in focus mode; rather, it takes out the collected ones and presents them to you, which makes the writing difficult, and you barely get anything written.

Take your headphones, turn on a music app, and imagine your story while you walk in a comfortable space (give yourself a thirsty minute free time). Imagine the story you have outlined many times, like a song on a loop. You can imagine the same six-page story you will write tomorrow/today or the point-to-point story. When you're done with the walk of thirty minutes. You can go back to writing or write tomorrow of what you have thought.

Make sure you imagine the conversations and scenes vividly; imagine the story in a simple way. If it feels too complicated, break it down.

Write secondary story

Before you start writing your main story, what I want you to do is take a distraction-free writing app if you don't have one. Take MS Word and open its focus mode. Turn on the timer for 15 minutes and write without caring about grammar mistakes or using backspace. Just write a short story without caring about someone judging your work.

Write and Judge later

When you start writing, just write. Don't think much about the mistakes; it's a later job when you're done writing. And enjoy the writing the way you should. If you don't enjoy it, then no... writing 2000 words isn't possible.

Write daily

You have to practice daily, you have to imagine daily, and you have to be more optimistic. With time, you will do it. No one is comfortable with writing 2000 words in a day; it takes time, and it should, to stabilize your writing.
