Language
If your secondary language, or even your third language, is English, it's important to know the basics of the language, not just a few words you picked up from watching YouTube videos. Have enough understanding that your grammatical structure when writing a sentence makes sense.
If you have the basics, you should also start adding new words to your vocabulary. A new word every day, get into the habit of it. It's better learning a single new word every day than learning absolutely nothing but a few words once a month that you get in your head without knowing much what they mean.
Also, take 10–15 minutes to practice grammar. There's no shame in learning about the deep grammatical parts of a language.
Just don't overthink that Language everything.
Storytelling concept
A story isn't a pointless tale full of NPCs wandering around, doing nothing but the same repetitive, dull actions. Even the main character would be trash if the story has nothing to offer but a certain idea that has no direction or aim.
We also need to have a meaning to a story, why we are creating a story. If you write a story about a fairy going to a kingdom to destroy it because... they're saying a few bad words to them? It's just irrational. Besides, a story continues only when the characters' reasons are valid. A fairy friend got kidnapped by the king for gaining immortality by eating his friend, now the friend has to save them. While on the expedition, they find trouble, more friends, traitors, despair, character development, more stories within stories, sad times and a good/bad ending.
You should also learn, how to write a characters, dialogues, scenes, world settings etc... there's no end to learning about storytelling.
Story structure
Would you like to stay in a house that is completely empty? I mean... if you're not homeless, but still. Would you? That's why stories without goals and direction are like. Story structure is the TV, remote, mobile, kitchen of the house. Story structure is the blueprint which helps you grasp the idea of what you will have to write. Would you like to start building a house without having any idea where anything should be made and where the bathroom should be?
Story structure is like that; you will know where a character should betray in a story and where an ally should meet the MC. You can put all those ideas together and then start writing the main story with something in place and not have to start from scratch.

Writer must be a reader
If you have never read a book, novel, or even a novella before, then a reader would beat you even in storytelling. Let's say one day you wake up and decide to become a writer, you have no understanding of story structure, don't know what writers do, and what you should write. The first thing that came to mind is that you will write a short story first. 7,000 words is your goal, but as time passes by, you barely complete the story, taking days after days, no, not weeks. Those 7,000 words turned into 23,000 words, and the short story... it's terrible.
Then you start reading; you learn not only how a short story is written but can also understand the importance of the construction of scenes, the length of paragraphs, omitting stuff, new words, etc. Reading gives you a whole new world of benefits.
Curiosity
You never felt curious? Then start being curious. When it comes to learning, curiosity is the biggest helper. Question yourself: "Why has your story not failed/succeeded?" "Why are those reviews bad?" "What if I start applying this method?" Curiosity is like a link; from one 'why' creates many 'why's, and those 'why's are the reason for success and improvement.
Be open Minded
Being a writer, reviewer, and editor of your own story can do two things: "You'll either call it perfect and fix nothing, ruining it completely, or you will fix too much that will ruin it completely."
It's always important to have some fellow authors around. Join a community and take reviews of the story you're writing. This will be a bigger help; getting other people's opinions might help you get the mistakes you never noticed to become visible.
This type of experience will provide you help, you never got from yourself. Not only that and always be open about improving.
A strong will
It's crucial to have a strong will, Sometimes there are scenes in your story that you had been imagining for week, only when written they make no sense to your readers. But when it comes to deleting it, you just say, "No, it's just a scene" sometimes these mistakes are not acceptable. Sometimes betraying a fairy is better than not betraying it.
