When I thought to improve my English, I had tons of grammar books downloaded on my phone and a dictionary for increasing my vocabulary. But did they work for me? Not really.
So what did I do to improve my English?

Learn vocabulary via reading books

There's nothing more fun than taking a book in hand and learning every new word on the way. I learned a lot of new words while reading several books.
But here's the thing: don't start off with a difficult book. If you're interested in novels, read those with simple English or read web-novels. Have a look-up dictionary on the phone.
I not only added new words to my dictionary but also improved my grammar along the way.

Enhance your English by writing

Take a page (have a physical page) or a notepad and write down a short story of no more than 200 to 500 words, if not daily at least twice or thrice a week. Check where you erred (made a mistake) and try again with more intent, and observe why there was a mistake.
Learn a new grammar rule, how it works, and what exactly it is.

Use AI for learning

If you're struggling with understanding the definition, then try getting help from AI. Make sure to ask it to explain it to you in simple English. Try to learn only in English, and avoid translating things into your language unless absolutely necessary.

Don't be anxious

If the process is tedious, don't panic and give up. Learning a new language can be tough, and yes, it takes time. Just believe in the progress, even if it's a small step; be happy with it. It's better than learning naught (nothing).
